Big thanks to Hereford FC who played host to the Roger Parckar Memorial charity football tournament on Wednesday evening, with teams from club sponsors, Central Group, Westons Cider, RE Recruitment, Hereford Football Club, Kingspan Global and of course Dawleys.
The charity event was held in honour of Roger Parckar, our former Chairman of Dawleys, who sadly passed away last year. As a lifelong football fan, Roger would have loved it.
The tournament was won by RE Recruitment and the trophy was presented by Roger’s wife Jill Parckar.
The presentation was followed by a penalty shoot-out in front of the Meadow End, won by the Dawleys Team Mascot Alfie Beard closely followed by Josh Jones, Rob Cowles and James Gill from Dawleys. We may not have won the tournament but it seems we’re pretty good at penalties!
Martin Brain, Hereford FC Commercial Manager said: “This was a fun night of football, played to a great standard and in good spirit and gave us an opportunity to honour Roger Parckar, a man who loved local sport and gave great support to Hereford FC.”
“It was great to see so many families, colleagues and friends come and support the evening with over £670 raised for Macmillian Cancer Support. We look forward to the 2023 event!”
